First things first. Guess what? It’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale week. The sale already started for cardholders and will be open to the public tomorrow AND I just found out that I was accepted into the Reward Style program. HELLO PERFECT TIMING. What does that mean? So my first post. LET’S TALK ABOUT RUGS, BABY. Now Salt-N-Pepa is playing in my head while I write this post which is amazing. If you don’t know who Salt-N-Pepa is or why I just referenced that, you are far too young for us to be friends. Just kidding we can be friends but only if you go download some Salt-N-Pepa songs STAT.
Ok, back to rugs…they are everything. They can make or break a room. They can add warmth, texture, drama, and elegance, or they can add absolutely nothing whatsoever. So they are important. I’m going to be honest. I struggle with rugs…where to find them, is it going to look right in this space. I’m still figuring it out myself but I’m getting better. I know when I was building my house I spent a God awful amount of time searching for rugs and I would have LOVED to read a post like this where someone broke it down and picked out a bunch of rugs for me and all I had to do was click and buy. So that is what I’m doing . I just scoured the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and the first thing that popped out to me…HOLY COW THERE ARE SOME AMAZING RUGS ON SALE. I absolutely love all of these rugs and quite a few of them are very similar to ones that I have in my home. Current things I’m obsessed with – the overdyed rugs are amazing; obvi those shag moroccan style ones with the cross hatches look good anywhere – living rooms, game rooms, study, boy’s rooms, even girl’s rooms if they are used correctly; anything black and white geometric because you can never go wrong here (see pictures above of this amazing space designed by my best insta: @bradybarberdesigns); then I also love just the really simple monochromatic rugs.
Before I show you all the rugs I picked out, I want to show you an example of how important a rug can be. Here is the before picture of the first rug I chose for my living. Ehh..WRONG ANSWER. What was I thinking? The floors are natural hickory and then I picked out a carpet square that was the exact same color. BORING. Back to the drawing board. Check out the second picture and tell me what you think. See….rugs make a difference don’t they. See below for some amazing choices of rugs you can’t go wrong with AND um, hello, they are all on sale. All except for that lulu and georgia one (very first rug). It’s not on sale but it’s too amazing not to include in a post about rugs.
