I know many of us are home bound for the indefinite future while we practice our social distancing skills so I thought I’d work up this post on How To Update Your Rugs for Spring and we decided to offer our biggest discount ever to you guys in CC and Mike THE SHOP —30 percent off! — in hopes that it might bring a smile to your face and also help you bring some joy into your home during these uncertain times.
We are offering 30 percent off our BEST SELLING RUGS, in CC and Mike THE SHOP as well as running a sale on PRINTS and PILLOWS.
I know a picture is worth a thousand words so I’ve rounded up some of my favorite stagings from my designer friends who have used our rugs in some of their projects, to show you the hottest new rugs for SPRING. First up is our friends over at THE SPOILED HOME who have the Jocelyn Rose rug both in their master bedroom and as a runner in their laundry room.
(PICTURED ABOVE is the Pink Indio runner in Curls and Cashmere’s lake house. It has been one of our best selling rugs of all time and is available for preorder! Don’t miss out because it sells fast when it comes back in stock. Pre-ordering can ensure you can get one of these beauties when they are restocked.)
Now back to the Jocelyn Rose. Isn’t she such a beauty? I fell in love with this rug at market and it is one of our TOP THREE choices for How To Update Your Rugs for Spring. The colors are so gorgeous and specifically bring a fresh, spring and summer vibe to your home with the blush, navy, and gold tones. You can see two different ways the Jocelyn has been styled in The Spoiled Home’s master bedroom and their laundry room.
I know you’re going to ask so here are the pillow recommendations I have for the Jocelyn Rose Rug so I’ve got you covered! Any of these pillows or a mix of these pillows go well with the Jocelyn Rug!
PILLOW RECOMMENDATION FOR THE JOCELYN ROSE RUG:
Now for my SECOND choice for TOP THREE rugs for How to Update Your Rugs for Spring. DRUMROLL PLEASE…the Hathaway Line. I literally fell in love with this line at Market and chose to update my own personal living room with the Navy Hathaway. But let me assure you, the entire HATHAWAY LINE is to die for and I can’t recommend it enough. If you want to go more bold, I suggest the NAVY HATHAWAY or DENIM HATHAWAY but if you want to go more neutral choose on of the other patterns from the Hathaway line. Here’s a Sneak Peek at my living room with the Hathaway in it. It’s not fully ready to reveal but this will give you an idea of how gorgeous the rug is!

Also, BELOW you will see the photo of the NAVY HATHAWAY online (versus the true life photo of my living room above). You guys. THIS is why I do what I do and why I want you to feel confident buying rugs from CC and MIKE THE SHOP. Online stock images just look SO different than the real life rug which is why I travel to market 3 to 4 times a year and take as many real life photos as possible of these rugs for you. I also send them to my influencer and designer friends and have them stage them in their homes because I truly believe REAL life stagings of these rugs is the best way for you to see them and know whether or not they are going to work in your home.
This rug has been a best seller and my blogger friends have loved it! My friend Ashley used it in her lake house kitchen as a runner and my friend Sandi layered it over the gold blush Skye in her daughters room. Speaking of the gold blush Skye, it is also a beauty and the colors in it instantly give Spring vibes as well! These rugs are all gorgeous year round of course but with Spring right around the corner, many of us are thinking of softening and lightening our homes. I definitely recommend both the Indio and SKYE rug lines from CC and Mike THE SHOP in order to accomplish that!
Last but not least we have the LOREN rug line, specifically our best selling TERRA COTTA SKY LOREN seen in Our Haven Bliss‘s dining room, Our Vintage Nest‘s Playroom, and in our Kane Remodel Project living room. As you will see, this rug pairs gorgeous with denim, leather, white, wood, terra cotta (if you want to pull out more bold colors) and it can definitely be mixed with black as well.
I know I’m showing pictures of just one of the LOREN rugs but trust me when I say, I have used over half of these Loren rugs in projects and they never disappoint. The colorways are GORGEOUS and if it is in our SHOP, it means I’ve seen it in person and LOVED IT! So don’t hesitate to grab any of these beauties in either a runner or an area rug!
This is our KANE REMODEL PROJECT. If you would like to see the before and afters and read more about that project you can head over to the KANE REMODEL REVEAL. You can also shop the KANE REMODEL HERE:

My vision with this shop of ours, is to bring on-trend home decor straight to your doorstep without all the hassle and stress that normally comes with online buying. Quite simply put, every single rug in our shop is one I’ve gone to Market and personally seen. In other words, these rugs are designer recommended and are what we personally use in our projects! Buying rugs online can be SO DIFFICULT because alas, the colors in those dang online photos look completely different than the actual colors of the rug in real life. In CC and Mike the SHOP, we make rug buying easy because we show you photos of the rugs in actual designer-inspired rooms. So without further ado, we are going to do a little buying guide on some of our best selling and favorite rugs to help you select what rug will be best for your home.
Hopefully these photos will give you a better idea how to add a rug into your space. Let’s take a look!
(Photo credit to the beautiful kitchen above goes to Mysha at Remington Avenue. We love how she used our Anastasia runner in her beautiful kitchen!)
You can use a neutral rug in a space to add more depth and dimension, which is exactly what our Olive Charcoal Layla rug does for any room.
Here it is in Grace and Magnolias bedroom. Talk about the perfect neutral that keeps your space from being boring! One thing that is great about this rug is that it is very versatile. As you can see in the two pictures below the first room has while walls, black nightstands, and a beautiful olive green bed. The Layla rug is what brings all of these colors together and completes the space.
Also, if you’re looking pillows to recreate this similar look…we have mudcloth pillows in CC and Mike the SHOP. All of these pillows pair beautifully with the Olive Charcoal Layla rug! OH YES! And go ahead and add a leather pouf and a throw from our SHOP while you’re at it. Leather looks gorgeous with the Olive Charcoal Layla rug!
Here are some of our favorites pillows to pair with the Layla:
We love how the Olive Charcoal Layla adds depth and dimension to Eye for Pretty‘s neutral Living Room. Here the rug is used in a completely different way than the above picture. This room is bright and airy with an array or whites and light woods. The rug really grounds the room and makes the light colors stand out.
Another example with the same color palette is from Halfway Wholeistics living room!
We also Highly recommend this Mid Century coffee table with our Layla Rug.
Let’S talk about adding a little color to your space now and how to do that! The Ocean/Rust Layla rug is the perfect way to add a deep and rich color to your space.
Here it is in Grace and Magnolias Living room. We are loving the color combination with the deep blue walls and the neutral furniture. If you have a space with a lot of wood and leather the Layla rug may be perfect for you. This rug is great with any Navy or Taupe accented rooms as well.
Are you wanting to add color, but something lighter? The Terracotta Loren rug is for you! This rug is high quality and will hold up great in any space in your home.
Our every day home displays it beautifully in their bedroom here! If you have a lot of white and light taupe in your bedroom, but want to add a little color without anything over powering the Loren rug is the winner.
In this photo you can really see how vibrant the color is. It is beautiful in a living room with a white couch with black and white accents. The reason this rug works in this space so well with the black wall and white couch is because of the colors. You don’t see many colors in the rest of the space so the rug gets to be a statement in the room.
If you would like to recreate this bedroom look in your home, we recommend the Industry bench at the foot of the beds paired with the Nigel nightstands from our shop. You could also add in a gorgeous sideboard for under your tv in your master bedroom.
And here is another look at our Terra Cotta Loren rug in the Kane Remodel. We used it in the kitchen as a runner and in this gorgeous living room. You can shop all the products from the Kane Remodel here:
Here is another look at the Terra Cotta Loren Rug in Jen’s home – Our Haven Bliss
Don’t forget that the Terracotta Loren also makes a gorgeous runner. We used it in our Kane remodel and have seen designers buying it and using it in their kitchens recently as well!
And here is another kitchen a follower sent us of the terracotta loren in their beautiful kitchen. We love how it pairs with the natural wood and the brick backsplash!
Speaking of runners, another one of our favorites here at the CC & Mike The Shop is the Pink Indigo. It has been a best seller as of late!
Curls and Cashmere is loving it too! It comes in a variety of sizes, but a runner in the kitchen is a fun way to add color to your kitchen. I especially love it when paired with white paint and gold accents.
If you are wanting a runner in your kitchen, but more of a neutral look! Check out the Ivory and Multi Anastasia Rug.
Remington on the Avenue styled it perfectly in her kitchen! This rug is great for a kitchen with white cabinets that also has a brick wall or dark counter tops. It is the middle ground for all of the contrast in the space and help ties the space together.
You could also add a runner in your hallway. The Cambridge rug is one of our favorites for any hallway, but especially on wood floors. As you can see in the photo the rug almost has a bit of a blue undertone to it.
The Cambridge rug is one of our favorite area rugs as well, seen here in The Spoiled Home’s master bedroom. The Cambridge comes in a 10×14 for under $1000 and you guys, it is a beauty! I highly recommend it for runners, bedrooms, living rooms, and pretty much anywhere. It’s an extremely versatile rug!
Speaking of the girls at the Spoiled Home, here is another beauty in Sandi’s bedroom – our blush sky rug! We absolutely love this rug and a follower recently sent us a photo of the blush sky in her kitchen too! It’s a beauty you guys and whether you use it as a runner or a large area rug, it will make a huge statement in your home!
Here’s a closer look at the Blush Sky rug. Look at all those gorgeous colors.
And here is a blush sky as a runner that a follower sent us – thank you Rustic.lux for sending us this gorgeous picture of our rug in your home. It makes us SO HAPPY!
Last, but not least add a print to your space to finish it off! Our best selling print of all times is the King of the Hill Print. And he looks absolutely wonderful styled with any of these rugs and pillows. Here is a look at him in The Sister Studio Ig’s home.
Our friend Alma Fied styled her solitude print in such a beautiful way in her living room and look what we spy – the Olive Charcoal Layla too. CC and Mike the SHOP has everything you need to bring this look to your living room as well!
This Horse Eye Print is one of our favorites Larissa Lately styled it in her home beautifully. You can always mix up the frame to fit the style or your home. Since it is black and white you can really put it in any space.
The growth print is also on sale and we love it over your mantle! It is subtle, but draws the eye to your fireplace. This print also comes in color as well!
Okay now that you have some ideas run over to the CC & Mike The Shop for 20% off the whole shop for Labor Day Weekend! Happy Shopping!
It’s time for another CC+Mike reveal!! I have been so excited to share our projects with you all and I am proud to announce that….. drumroll, please….. it’s finally time to reveal our long-awaited, much anticipated BEAVER LAKE PROJECT!
This was the first project I was hired to do the entire house. It will forever hold a special place in my heart for that reason and many more! Our incredible clients, who also worked with us on the Stone Hill Project, hired me to not only choose the finishes in this project but also to fully furnish it! It was our first full-service project which has opened the door to more opportunities. Keep your eyes out for more reveals! We LOVE MAKING DREAM HOMES HAPPEN and making this lake home come to life for our clients was truly a dream in itself.
WELCOME INSIDE OUR BEAVER LAKE PROJECT Y’ALL!
I loved partnering with a female builder on this project! Koby, from Homes of Distinction Arkansas helped us transform the Beaver Lakehouse into the most amazing home. Here is how we went from design to completion on this one-of-a-kind lake home.
Design to Completion: Beaver Lake kitchen
The kitchen is always one of my favorite rooms to work on in a home because it’s one of the rooms you spend the most time in! But it wasn’t built in a day! This was our design plan and inspiration for this amazing kitchen.
Since it was such a big space, we wanted to keep the kitchen light, bright, and beautiful! I knew I wanted to pair the quartz slab backsplash with a streamlined modern hood. The crisp modern pairing is an amazing contrast to the natural white oak island with a quartz waterfall edge for the countertops!
In classic CC+Mike style, I featured a beautiful Layla runner in the kitchen! It draws the eye and gives the space extra warmth. In fact, ALL of the rugs we used in this home are available on CC+Mike: The Shop. For a list of the rugs we use again and again, check out our recent blog post on this year’s favorite rugs!
SAVE OR SPLURGE: COUNTER STOOLS
I fell in love with the French Maid Chandeliers from CC+Mike: The Shop! They add some much needed weight to this bright kitchen. And the brass accents tie into the Kingston BG Counter Stools for a complete, balanced look. The Kingston BG Counter Stools are absolutely perfect for this kitchen, so they were worth the splurge! For home designers looking to save on decor, the gold barstools from the CC+ Mike Shop would be an excellent second choice!
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know that my latest design infatuation is open shelving. After seeing all of these gorgeous examples and trying them out myself, how could I not include them in the Beaver Lake project?! I love using it to display beautiful dishes and sentimental items. It adds a personal touch to the kitchen that I adore! So pretty!
One of my favorite things about the kitchen is that it is open to the living and dining room. The open concept is perfect for entertaining! Here’s how our design transformed these rooms.
From Design to Completion: Living and Dining Room
Living and Dining Room Reveal
The Beaver Lake project was such a unique experience because the spaces we had to work with were so full of character! I wanted to compliment that by bringing pieces with personality to the living and dining room. Just like the kitchen, the walls in these rooms were light and bright. The Riga dining table was the perfect dramatic accent to make the room sing!
I love adding contrast, so I chose leather dining chairs with light wood. Not only are they beautiful but they are comfortable. The perfect dining chairs for family dinners. They also play off of the living room couches so well – it’s like they were made to be together!
I could talk all day about how these two rooms flow so well together! Since the couches are in neutral grey and light brown leather, I NEEDED to add a few pops of color. Pillows are always a great color solution! I chose these gorgeous harbor blue and Prussian blue pillows to add some depth to the room. Then, I chose to hang the Sawyer 6 Light Chandelier to give the room an elegant look. Beautiful!
Fun fact! The living room was large, and I needed to fill the space, so I opted to layer two of my favorite rugs. The top rug is a Beige Andes Rug and the bottom rug is the Giana Rug in ivory. Giana is a rug that comes highly recommended due to its thick, heavy pile and its availability in large sizes!
The Bedrooms at Beaver Lake
The Boys’ Room
By far, my favorite room to design in the Beaver Lake project was the boy’s room! I’ve done several kid’s bedrooms in the past, and I always love them. For example, we remodeled my son’s bedroom last year. It was so much fun, and this project was no different!
This room was kind of a challenge because of the Zoe’s and shape of the space as well as the rooflines! But we absolutely love how it turned out. We started with a neutral palette of greys and whites and added a huge pop of black that makes this room unforgettable. The Bachelor twin bed frame makes the most of the small space, without sacrificing one bit of style!
When it comes to small space design, it’s all in the details. I chose the fun “Boys Only” art from Walmart. It’s always one of my go-to’s for affordable design pieces! Here’s how we have used their products in the past. Once the art was in, the room came together so beautifully!
Beaver Lake Reveal: The Master Suites
The First Master Suite
The house has TWO master bedrooms! They were such a great opportunity to test out my creativity. In the main master suite, I wanted to mimic the light and bright aesthetic. The room features soft and subtle colors. They will help anyone relax after a long day! I especially love the Londrina four-poster bed. It is such a classic look that we could not go wrong!
The Second Master Suite!
I decided to think differently about the second master. I went for a darker look! The amazing dark grey-blue paint paired with lighter accents, like the Nigel side table, made the room so inviting. For a little bit of a modern twist, I also added the fabulous Angelica crystal lamp. LOVE!
The Bunk Bedroom at Beaver Lake
The bunk room was also an amazing room to get to design. I have worked with bunk beds before but I never built them in! Koby was such a huge help with this part of the project. What was an odd space is now a fun room for guests! We saved space in style with the amazing green bed frames. Keeping it simple was the perfect way to let the bunk beds shine!
The Powder Room Reveal
No bedroom tour would be complete without a peek at the powder room! This is my favorite bathroom in the house. It has all the drama in the world while also hinting back to the design in the rest of the house. The Cadence mirror has the same wow factor as the Bachelor twin beds. Just a hint of the unexpected! I also adore the Alva sconces. They feel like such a subtle nod to the French Maid chandeliers from the kitchen. I could not be happier with how this turned out!
Bonus: The Study at Beaver Lake!
Now let’s take a look at the Beaver Lake project study! It’s another space that had undeniable character that we had just had to bring to life. I wanted to keep the theme of the house going so I brought in the white oak from the kitchen, along with the natural leather accent chairs. The effect is immediate! It’s not too hard and not too soft – the perfect room to sit in with a book and your drink of choice!
I got to use an all time favorite rug in this study! The Charcoal Tartan Rug is very thick, sturdy and gorgeous. Paired with this elegant eclipse oval coffee table, it was the perfect way to tie together the room.
The Beaver Lake Project has been one of the MOST exciting projects to date. I couldn’t wait to share it with y’all! I loved being able to work with Koby and the Homes of Distinction Arkansas team to make this dream home a reality. This project has opened so many doors for us and we can’t wait to show you our next projects! As always I hope you find some inspiration in these posts to go out and make your home your own!
Hey there guys! So it’s almost Dec 25th and I know I’m probably the only home decor blogger who in America who is just now posting a blog on their Christmas decor but hey, better late than never right? If you’ve been following us on insta then you know that I gave Mike Miller an early birthday present and agreed not to put out our Christmas until after Thanksgiving. I’ve just been taking a slow and steady approach since then and finally had some photos ready to share with you guys. A lot of my Christmas decor that I use from year to year is often on sale this time of year so I thought I’d do a quick post for you guys just in case you want to grab some things for next year, or for this year for that matter!
First of all, I have to mention our Samsung Frame TV because it’s one of my favorite new additions to our living room. You can change out the art year round based on the season or based on what you are feeling at that moment. For the holidays, I’ve used a print from NYC at Christmas Time and I love the Christmasy mood it’s creating in our living room! Especially when it’s cold enough to light a fire! I also have to mention our Christmas tree which is the Prince 10 foot flocked from King Of Christmas. If you don’t have a Christmas tree from King of Christmas, they are an amazing investment that will last year to year and I highly recommend them. Lots of their trees are on sale now so it’s a great time to buy.
Like I said, I really took my time this year and have just taken a really slow approach to my Christmas decor. Here are some of my recent easy tabletop decor ideas and a look at my dining room decor. My flocked Christmas tree from the dining room is from Walmart and I’ve had it for three years and love it! It’s a more affordable alternative to the King of Christmas tree.
SHOP OUR DINING ROOM AND DINING ROOM CHRISTMAS DECOR:
Next up, here’s a little look at the Christmas decor in our living room. I have featured some of our tried and true Christmas decor items that we use each and every year in our holiday decor. Of course, we started off with some of our favorite pieces from CC+Mike: The Shop. The Hathaway rug and Atrumed coffee table are staples in our living room. Perfect for every season!
YOU CAN SHOP OUR LIVING ROOM HERE:
Part of what makes this transition so easy is choosing colors that play off the fixtures I already have in my home. I love to use lots of saturated colors like navy added in with white, green, and metallic details! These work so well with my favorite year-to-year Christmas decorations like my West Elm candlesticks, gold lanterns from Walmart, and accordion Christmas trees from West Elm. I’ve used them for coffee table styling this year but last year they were the center of my dining room tablescape last year. I definitely recommend snagging some of them while they are on sale!
SCROLL AND TAP TO SHOP OUR FAVORITE YEAR TO YEAR CHRISTMAS DECOR
Speaking of our dining room, here’s a look! I love decorating our dining room for the holidays and always use lots of candlesticks on our holiday tablescape!
Let’s talk about the mantle! On either side of the Samsung Frame TV, I used Pottery Barn lanterns and put some accordion trees inside of them. Our Garland is two strand of the magnolia garland from West Elm mixed with some flocked garland from Walmart. I also use some LED strands and some mercury bulb LED lights in our mantle mix
SHOP MY FAVORITE YEAR TO YEAR CHRISTMAS DECOR ITEMS
Here’s a closer look at the Accordion Trees from West Elm! I
Another item I use in my decor every single year is the Pioneer Woman cake stand featured in my tabletop decor blog post. Honestly, I use this little trusty cake stand year round but I love it especially at Christmas time. It’s beautiful if you put glitter or metallic ornaments on it and just place it on top of the Walmart Better Homes and gardens Tray. This entire look is so affordable! Don’t forget to grab some table top Christmas trees as well. I use them all over my house at the Holidays!
Hopefully since it’s the middle of December you can grab some my favorite year-to-year decorations on sale. Maybe you’ll even grab a King of Christmas flocked Christmas tree at a steal of a deal! Our magnolia garland from West Elm is also a state for Christmas decor every year as well. Whether you are taking it slow and easy, or throwing up decor all at once, I hope you are inspired to bring a little Christmas into your home this year. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR from the Miller family!
Choosing the perfect area rug can be a challenge to say the least, which is why I’ve got your back today with this CC and Mike Guide to Buying the Perfect Area Rug! And the extra good news is that there is a limited time sale going on in CC and Mike the SHOP where our best selling rugs are 20 percent off with code RUGS20. Now not all our rugs are on sale but our best sellers are. So, I thought this was a good time to circle up and show you not only what all our best sellers are, but WHY they are best sellers. In addition, I’m going to show you photos of each rug used in different projects AND design boards that I have used the rugs in for upcoming projects. I’m also going to tell you what colors I like to use the rug with and what stylistic preferences the rug lends itself to. So, by the end of this post I hope this CC and Mike Guide to Buying The Perfect Area Rug, helps you buy the perfect area rug for your home. Trust me, these are all beauties and they wouldn’t be in CC and Mike The Shop if I hadn’t seen them in person and fell in love with them!
This beauty is perhaps my absolute favorite rug and has been a best seller in our SHOP as both an area rug and a runner. IT IS CURRENTLY SOLD OUT in the larger sizes (above 3×5) but the good news is you can pre-order yours now to ensure that you get one from the next shipment which will be June 2019. I just used this rug in our Kane Project remodel and you guys, I’m dying that I can’t show you the photos. There is a very big and exciting announcement coming that is associated with that project so I can’t reveal the photos until then. For now, let’s just say this rug is a BEAUTY and I’m using it in multiple projects. It’s phenomenal and can go with so many different colors and styles. The versatility of this rug is one of my favorite things about it and I highly recommend ordering it up for your own home!
COLORS CC RECOMMENDS WITH THIS RUG: I love this with denim, rust, black, gray, light green, white, and even navy and blue tones. I am including a design board I did for the Kane project so you can see how it looks planned into that living room with a black statement wall and wood and a more eclectic vibe. You could also take this in a more neutral/traditional direction by simply changing out the accessories, art, and prints for more neutral stripes and tones.
This rug. You guys, I SWOON. It goes with everything. We even used brick, wood, and a black statement wall in the Kane project and it looks good with all of it!
Remember, it’s sold out but you can preorder to receive yours on the next shipment. It makes the most beautiful kitchen runner too!! We matched it in the living room on the Kane project and used it in the living room AND as the kitchen runner and I’m just in love with how it turned out.
The Anastasia rug line is such a beautiful and affordable option for large area rugs. You will see three different Anastasia rugs in this post atheyhe are all best sellers of ours. The Anastasia Ivory/Multi is what I have used in our personal bathroom to refresh it for Spring and Summer.
STYLE: Traditional, Transitional, and can also go toward a more Glam vibe if used with the right colors
COLORS CC RECOMMENDS USING WITH THIS RUG: Blush and pink tones, navy, gray, black, light green, light denim/chambray
YOU CAN SHOP OUR MASTER BEDROOM HERE:
The Anastasia rug also makes a beautiful kitchen runner and is so affordable. We love ours in our Kitchen!
In December when I went to market, I absolutely fell in love with the SKYE line of rugs. You will see that I have used them in multiple design boards for upcoming projects as well as putting them in my own home such as my master bathroom before. I truly want one of these rugs in every room in my house. I used the Ivory Berry rug in my personal bathroom and in a teen girl room for the Beaver Lake Project, and I also used the charcoal mutli skye rug throughout the Frisco project as a runner. These rugs are beauties as runners or as area rugs and I can’t recommend the line enough. For the Skye Berry Rug in particular, here are my recommendations:
STYLE: Traditional (if used with grays and muted tones), Eclectic and Boho (if you used it with funkier acessories, Glam (if used with gold and white (as soon in our Frie Teen room)
COLORS CC RECOMMENDS USING WITH THIS RUG: White, Pink tones, gray, navy, black, denim.
YOU CAN SHOP OUR MASTER BATHROOM HERE:
And below is a Sneak Peek at our Skye Berry used in a teen girl design for the Beaver Lake Project.
Don’t just stop with the SKYE Berry rug. They are ALL Beauties! I recommend these rugs in any all rooms in your house from living rooms to laundry rooms to kids rooms to dining rooms. Seriously you guys, these rugs are STATEMENT MAKERS in the best possible way and I highly recommend this line of rugs.
Here is another one of the Anastasia rugs! This rug has very earthy tones and I love how Sandi of @thespoiledhome used it with very natural colors, wood, and earthy toned, organic prints framed by the beds. This is exactly how I recommend using this rug!
Style: Farmhouse, Organic, Traditional (if used with more silvers and grays and white frames with different art and more traditional pillows such as stripes)
COLORS CC RECOMMENDS USING WITH THIS RUG: blush, light blue, copper and rust, LEATHER, gray, black and white, denim
I love this photo on Sandi’s rug that really shows the colors in the carpet. You can see why I say you can pull out blush and copper tones and even blues with this rug when you look at this photo. I also think it would look amazing with LEATHER!
Next up is our Ansastasia Blue/Slate rug. Gosh, this rug is a beauty. It has more subtle grays and green/blue tones. I LOVE it in living rooms and bedrooms and think it’s just such a classy, neutral rug. You will see that I used it in the design board for the Frisco Project living room (below) and pictures will be coming after install!
STYLE: Traditional, modern farmhouse
COLORS CC RECOMMENDS USING WITH THIS RUG: Neutrals, Gray tones, Blue/Greens
I love this rug so much! It makes a beautiful runner and area rug. We also are using it as the entryway rug in the Frisco project. The pattern has a more formal feel to me and therefore this rug can go in a “dressier” direction with the right selections, or it can be casual. Regardless of which way you choose to take it, the Silver Slate Loren is a timeless rug that will stand the test of time. You can see below where I also used it in a design board for the Frisco project and I believe it shows how the Silver Slate Loren gives the room just a bit more formal look than the Anastasia.
Style: Traditional, More Formal (if desired). This is a great rug to use with dark painted walls as well since it has a nice light feel and pattern to it.
COLORS CC RECOMMENDS USING WITH THIS RUG: Neutrals, gray, this rug can be used with a light lavender or blush, stripes and classic patterns, light denim
The NYLA slate is the rug we have in our dining room. It is a beauty and is one of those rugs I see myself having forever. The pattern lends itself to a bit more formal feel in my opinion and I love it for dining rooms, master bedrooms, and living rooms. I love the rug with our dark green walls painted in Benjamin Moore Dark Harbor. The rug pairs really nicely with green and gray tones.
The final rug on the CC and Mike Guide to Buying the Perfect Area Rug is this beauty that my friend Nicole used in her master bedroom. First of all, she is a design genius and second of all, this rug is so phenomenal and I want it for my master bedroom and/or living room. It’s such a beauty that it sold out in a heartbeat but the good news is, you can pre-order it at CC and Mike the Shop to make sure you get one before they sell out again. This rug looks AMAZING with leather and deep greens, blacks, copper and has an eclectic vibe that I absolutely love. OMG can we talk about how amazing it would be in a study as well with dark black or natural wood cabinets. Trust me, you’re going to be seeing this one in some upcoming design boards and projects from me AND you’re going to see it in my house soon. I just can’t decide if I want to do the living room or master bedroom. Stay tuned!
Style: Eclectic
COLORS CC RECOMMENDS USING WITH THIS RUG: Olive, leather, chocolate brown, black, white, greens, copper/rust, denim,
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the CC and Mike Guide to Buying the Perfect Area Rug! Hope you find a beauty for your own house and if you do, send me pictures so I can see. It just makes my heart so happy thinking about our rugs in your homes!
