College World Series Trip {Rv Travel}

If you are a baseball fan, then you’ve heard of OMAHA.  Omaha, Nebraska – the mecca of college baseball.  It’s the ultimate goal for every college baseball team – to make it to Omaha.  Only 64 teams get invited to the post season, and only 8 of those teams make it to Omaha to the College World Series.  Our alma mater, the Oklahoma State Cowboys is one of those teams.  The second we saw them clench their super regional win, we were planning our trip, which of course, was going to be an RV trip.   So…we are currently staying in the Horseshoe Casino parking lot in Council Bluffs, Iowa, because that was the only available RV parking in the entire city.  We are packed in like sardines in our parking spots and I told my kids they are pretty much not allowed to leave the RV unattended but who cares.  We are in Omaha and our Pokes are playing for the College World Series.

Saturday afternoon we won our first College World Series game which was HUGE.  We had the day off on Sunday so we decided to head to the zoo which came highly recommended.  It definitely did not disappoint.  Let me just say that every single one of these pictures was taken with my iPhone which is a little bit painful.  I’m a photographer.  I appreciate good quality photos, A LOT.  But you know what else I appreciate?  Quality time with my family.  And if I’m being honest, it’s just not a lot of fun to lug a huge camera and lens bag around on vacation, especially when it’s almost 100 degrees ouside.  So…I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of the occasional iPhone pic and just allowing myself to be present and not worry about always having to use my big camera.

So here is our trip so far…a SUPER fun tailgate, a HUGE OKstate win, a trip to the famous Rosenblatt stadium, the zoo, a Pistol Pete Pizza party, and tonight…we go back to battle.  Well, I mean the Pokes go to battle and I will be cheering like a crazy person.

GO POKES.
