Sharing is caring!
I’m back with another project reveal! I have been so excited to show you guys a fun commercial project that I was able to design last year: The Sports Armory in Jenks Oklahoma! You guys know that for the most part, we work on residential projects, but it really is so exciting to mix in a commercial project now and then. This sports facility is near and dear to my heart because it’s where my boys go to train! They take hitting and pitching lessons and do speed and agility lessons with Coach Pace. It feels so good to support a local business in my community, especially one that means so much to my family!
Shout Out to The Sports Armory!
The Sports Armory offers training courses for everyone! Their incredible staff works with you to develop your skills and I have seen my kids make amazing progress after starting there. Our amazing clients with OKPWP and Josh McFarland from Red Dog Construction. They wanted it to be a place where their athletes could hang out before and after their workouts – a place where they could feel at home. Our incredible clients on the Frenchman’s Creek Remodel (stay tuned for that reveal) chose us to pick the finishes and selections in the Sports Armory and full furnish the offices and lobby.
Let’s have a look and talk about some of the design!!!

Playing with Purpose
Of course, I have to shout out Playing With Purpose, an incredible organization that works with the Sports Armory to train student-athletes who want to play at their best. Their dedication to helping each child become a better all-around player is sensational. I have been absolutely floored by how excited my sons are to play, and I can’t wait to work with PWP again on an upcoming renovation of their Commercial Basketball Facility!
The Reveal: The Sports Armory Project
Now, on to the reveal! The Sports Armory project was a bit of a whirlwind in execution. We ordered and installed this entire project in… I think it was TWO WEEKS! It was an all-time record. Those who know me tell me I work best under pressure. This project was definitely a challenge, even for me, but WE DID IT! I want to give a special thanks to my amazing team and of course, Mike Miller who stepped in to help us pull this off. And I also couldn’t have been a part of this project without Shawn and Megan Williams and Red Dog Construction. They paved the way for my design and I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out!
Since The Sports Armory is a training center, I didn’t want to stray too far into my usual cozy modern design. I knew I had to keep the room edgy while still being inviting! Since they already had a snack bar and check-in desk ready to go, I set out to make three more seating areas that are perfect for hanging out with friends and teammates. I fell in love with these club chairs from Target and I knew I had to use them in the room! They became the staple piece AND they are so comfortable.
In the main hangout space, I knew I wanted to have some sofas there for lounging before and after training. I found these amazing cognac leather sofas on Amazon. LOVE! They are the perfect touch to help break up the dark colors and invite people in AND are a major look for less deal. These cognac sofas look perfect paired with these hammered metal drum side tables, which are also a great price point .
I also found these super cool cafeteria tables at World Market! They are a great place to sit down and chat after a workout or meet with Coach Pace to talk about progress. I can’t get over the swiveling seats. These cafeteria tables also tie in so well with the Pamona coffee table. I love the dark metal and wood elements!
The Sports Armory: Finishing Touches
In order to make this space extra special, I wanted to include something unique to the Sports Armory. They had such a great collection of jerseys displayed around the room, but I knew I had to add in some photos from the gym itself! The photos are black and white shots of some of the amazing moments that can happen at the gym, featuring some of the student-athletes and Coach Pace! I staged them over the water fountains and behind the check-in desk. It’s such a beautiful way to display the magic that happens at The Sports Armory. They turned out so well and are my favorite part of the design.
One Last Look at an Amazing Project!
This has been one of my favorite projects to work on because The Sport’s Armory is so close to our hearts. Being able to freshen up their hangout space has been such a joy. The process was so fast-paced but it was such a fun opportunity! I want to say another big thanks to the team that made this possible. I can’t wait to share more of our upcoming projects with you all! Stay tuned, we’ll be posting more soon.
